DIY Windshield Chip and Crack Repair for $10

A couple of days ago I was driving down the freeway and got a pretty nasty chip with crack in my windshield. These things were covered by insurance but these past few years it gets more difficult to deal with the insurance companies and making a claim let alone time it takes to go get it filled or have someone come out to do it. For folks that don't want to deal with making a claim for the rock chip there are now lost of companies selling windshield chip repair kits. After doing some research I settled on the $10 Glass Star America Windshield Chip repair kit at Walmart. There are numerous YouTube videos on how to do it which are worth watching. I still read and follow the directions but seeing the videos before hand give me a good idea of what to expect. Here is a picture of what the package looks like.

The kit doesn't look like much but it really works great. This has been my second repair using this kit so I do have some prior experience. My first repair still left some signs of the chip but it did not spread any further which is what we need to happen. Here are a few before pictures of my chipped and cracked windshield.

So after using the Glass Star America repair kit and about 35 minutes, I had an excellent windshield repair. I do a lot of highway driving so I anticipate more of these. Take a look at the after picture, not too shabby for a $10 Made in America windshield repair kit!

1967 Honda CL90 Motorcycle Build, Mixing CL90 Parts with S90 Parts

Here is an update to my CL90 build. I located a nice S90 gas tank but that forces me to use an S90 front fork. I found the triple trees but needed forks. I once again found CT90 forks that fit the bill but it looks like I might need a custom front wheel spacer. Here are the pictures.

I found another motorcycle project that is turning out to look pretty nice. I started with a 1967 CL90 frame. I was able to add a CA200 front fork assembly too it. When it came time to find a gas tank for it, I found a Honda S90 gas tank that turned out to be in really good shape. I got an excellent price for it and then realized that if I want to use the S90 tank then I am going to need the S90 front forks for it. I looked into finding a CL90 gas tank but they are hard to find in good shape without paying an arm and a leg for them. Here are some pictures of the project now.

1983 Honda C70 Passport Super Cub 100 MPG, Miles per Gallon

Here is my super gas mileage champ, a 1983 Honda C70 Passport Cub. It is reported to get 100 mpg and I believe it. I just ran it out of gas after filling it over three months ago. I was just using it to make test drives around the neighborhood. It is almost complete with the leg shields in place. All that I am missing are the mirrors and a front fender. I will have to modify a front fender to fit the oversized 2.75" x 17" tires that are on them The tires are the popular Michelin Gazelles. They have been great tires with excellent grip and a solid road feel.Here is my latest picture of it.
